The magician shows his hands empty and yet magically produces a string of colourful silk flags from nowhere. You tie a red and a green silk together and place them into a glass. You now show a rainbow colored silk to the audience, and proceed to vanish it. Now, you remove the red and green silks from the glass and magically you make the rainbow colored silk to appear between them.
